Spirit Warrior Finished

I finally put Spirit Warrior on Amazon. It is available as an e-book and a book as well. I hope you guys like it.

I am also about half way through writing the sequel to Changeling so any Lexi fans be prepared. She is going to have alot of action in this one. She will also have a couple of new enemies. One that you probably would have never guessed. I am really enjoying writing this one. I am thinking about calling it Lightening and the Dark. Can't wait to get it out to you guys.

Spirit Warrior

I just finished writing my second young adult, Spirit Warrior. I am typing it now and then will start the editing process. Can't wait to get this one out and have people respond to it. Any opinion on Epilogues in books? I have an epilogue in this book but I took a writing class one time where the instructor told me that prologues and epilogues are used to fix problems with books. I did have a prologue but I abandoned it because the start of the book sounded better without it. I will let you know when the new book is up on Amazon.

Talking to myself?

So, I am wondering at what point do I stop feeling like I am talking to myself? For the two people who have read this blog in the past and have blogs themselves, I would love to hear how to motivate myself to post when no one is commenting (except you guys which I really appreciate).
I thought I would share a little more about the book I am finishing right now. The main character, Laurel, is a seventeen year old girl who starts to question why the small town she lives in, Safe Harbor, has a curfew for children and adults. She finds the answer out one night when she is out past curfew and a deer runs in front of her car. As she swerves to avoid the deer she notices another figure behind the deer. Only it's not another deer, it's a vampire.
I hope this little teaser leaves you wanting more. Please let me know if you like it.

Stuck on a scene

I am stuck on a scene that I am having a hard time getting to the end of. There is a lot of action and I am worried that I am over explaining it. I think my problem is that this is not a scene I originally planned on putting in the book. But, I need it to get from the scene before it to the one after it. I don't think I have really been able to visualize it yet. Hopefully after I get through this scene I will be able to move more quickly.

On the mother front, I'm trying to figure out whether I should be concerned that my 2 1/2 year old's new favorite work is underpants. I figure it could be worse so I should just wait until she gets tired of it and moves on to something else.

On the mend

My daughter is finally starting to feel a little better today. I got inspiration today from a new Adele song for a future scene in the book I am working on. The story is coming along well and the kinks are working out.  I think I am going to take a Photoshop class so that my next cover will be awesome.
My first novel, Changeling, had the pretty Twilight-type vampires. I am really loving writing the dark, scary vampires for this new story. I keep thinking of that movie in Alaska where the vampires attack the town because the sun doesn't come out for 40 days. I think the name of the movie was 40 Days or something similar. Definitely not the type you would want to date!

Just another Monday

I just had to listen to my 5 year old read a book about Birman cats. It reinforced the fact that I love to read almost  any book.
I heard the song Glad you Came by The Wanted on the radio today and it inspired me to write more of my new story. I love when I hear songs that go along with the story I am working on. For instance, in my e-published book, Changeling, I wrote the last scene thinking of B.O.B's Airplane playing in the background. For my new book I am loving Skylar Grey and The Pretty Reckless. The Pretty Reckless album could be the soundtrack if this book is ever turned into a movie.
What songs inspire you?

Trying to find time

I think the theme of my life right now is trying to find time to do things. I meant to blog everyday but motherhood interfered in the way of a sick child. We are going on the fourth day of antibiotics and so far no better. I was hoping to write alot this weekend but no such luck. I am about two thirds of the way through my next book. Hopefully next weekend will be more productive. Thanks to C W for commenting on my last post. It is simple to blog just hard to find time. Can't wait till tomorrow.

New to blogging

Well this is my first time blogging so I hope you cut me some slack as I learn. I have my first Young Adult Novel, Changeling, on Amazon. I am working on my second novel as we speak. I hope to be done with it in a few months. My sister-in-law described it as X-Men meets Twilight. As soon as I come up with a book cover I will share it with you guys.
